Tania - you have serious readability issues on each of these covers. Please know that you can't just plop words on top of busy images and hope they will be seen. The way to approach this is to choose photos that have areas of "quietness" in them, in which you can place the text. You need to select images with this in mind.
Because it doesn't appear that any of these cover images tie closely into the magazine's content I suggest you backup and find other images. Have you read all the articles? What images would support the overall "theme" of the issue... the FUTURE of food. What IS the future of food... and how can the image show us this? This magazine does not offer recipes - and 2 of your covers suggest that it does. The other image shows us rows of lettuce... how does that relate to the theme?
As you look for other images, think about how the type might sit "inside" the image (rather than on top of it) - so the image can be really big, bold, and beautiful while at the same time offer space for the added elements you need to place on the cover. If the image is chosen well, it can fill the whole cover and still hold type too!

Keep thinking, it will be worth it.
