Here is my PSA for a non smoking ad. Once I download the photo I plan on changing the coloring of her, making her look a little more dull and not as bright and healthy.
This has great potential as a PSA - try experimenting with a glass effect along with the image (if only the stock image allows you to reproduce it with such effects)! What's the concept behind the vertical bar on the left of the page? I feel it isn't bonding with the ad right now, and I think it will provide more real estate for the text to rest as well! Beautiful work so far!
This has potential maybe work with the break the bad habit font I would make it bigger and move the typefaces away from that edge. And maybe work on some filters for the photo she gives me more of a makeup model then a smoking type of girl look and feel
Amanda - You have mentioned that you intend to make the girl "dull"... so I'll be interested to see what that does to the visual appeal of the ad. I wonder if just a select area could be "made dull"... I guess I'm worried about making her too diseased looking. I think the reader would simply say "well, THAT's not me... so I have nothing to worry about." How can you make us identify with the girl, and then suggest she isn't as healthy as she looks!
I think you should enlarge the word "declined" so we understand what those numbers mean.
I won't repeat what others have said above - but I encourage you to give those areas some thought too.
