As I came to the blog to post my table of contents I noticed I used the same phrase, "what's inside". I promise I didn't intentionally do that.
Clearly I like the wording there but it seems you are missing a space in between the two words. I also think there may be too much negative space around it. It does not feel balanced with the tight structured feel on the right. You have really great image placements though, I think that section is successful.
I do agree with Tobias to fix the spacing between what's and inside on the left of the spread! I feel that this section might be strong if you can find a way to communicate the headline (What's Inside…) and the vertical images that will build visual movement from the left to right of the spread. Consider giving the headline…a sense of going 'inside' of something!
This design where you take trips of images and put them side by side seems to be popularI'm not sure if the images are as strong as they could be. I do, however love the overall layout. You are always great at playing with space. I agree with everything said above.
I really like the layout of the photos and that the first page has a lot of berthing room introducing the second page. Thought I would make the type a little bit bolder or ad color cause its missing that eye-catching feeling.

Amanda - I second Tobia's comment above, and wonder if you should run a long vertical image that bleeds off the left side of the What's Inside page?

I made this typo a minute ago, and don't know if it's a clever capitalization of the word... or not. Just something to consider...
Is there a visual hierarchy problem with the right page? I seem to notice the byline before anything else. Rethink color use?
