Revised for Final: Cover, Department (Science) & Feature
My revised logo is held on the cover as well as updates for the cover. I also added updates to the feature and the department. Still working. Feedback would be the most helpful thing right now.
Ruby, these have come a long way. I'll wait to comment on these when I see them printed. These set a good design approach for the additional department and feature pages you may add.
Remember, if you add another feature article to the magazine - it can flow onto 3 or even 4 pages.
Lastly - I might question why the 2 side bars on the feature spread have different shapes at the bottom. The left hand one suggests a "ribbon", but the right-hand one does not... not sure what it does suggest.
I'm really enjoying the organization of the text on your spreadpage, its easy to read and well placed. A very inviting look and feel. One thing i do want to add is maybe; if the image is large enough- to bump it over to the left to expose more of the pepper, which would possibly make the tan box in the picture a little more even- on the edges. And lastly i think you could actually reuse the text box you created on the right, and reflect its orientation on the left side, it might help make this page appear to be symmetrical. Great work!

Masthead seems to have settled into itself!
