Carrissa - please read the instructions right before you do the work for this class. This will help you avoid misusing your time. The text to be used on these pages should be pulled from the Department copy I've supplied you with, NOT from the Feature copy. You have designed a hybrid of a department and a feature on each of these pages... rather than simply a department (which should contain small "chunks" of text with subheads sitting under a department title). Are you clear about this? Really, none of these pages is a department design.
I don't think you understood the difference between Departments and Features when you did this work - maybe because you missed class? It's important that you do understand this, before moving on to the refinement of one of these designs, and before you proceed to Exercise 2.
Please use the proper text and redo this exercise and upload to this blog. This will allow you to experiment with the grids in the helpful way this exercise was intended to be - as roughs for your final project.
I'm also going to add that when you use the name of the magazine (Habitat Magazine) and the issue theme (The Future of Food) they should appear in a running header, or running footer... not as head above body copy. Each article, whether for department or feature work, contains a heading for itself in the Word file - and that should not change. You CAN cut the length of body copy however if you need to.
