This week would like present a very creative magazine covers for IL Magazine by Francesco Franchi, who has been the creative director at IL since 2008. IL- Intelligence in lifestyle' is high-end magazine, gear toward ment, but it also read by women.
I really enjoy this cover, because the layout really targets the specific audience which is men. Also I do not mind the negative space, because is so strong in a good way, that allows the images capture the reader interest right away without saying many words. Finally i really enjoy the blocky shape, they are a real essential of what make this cover work.
I'm drawn to the cover "E Ora?", top row middle - with the yellow typography sitting almost "on" the women's face... the type really seems to add to the energy of the image, almost trying to pin it down... but not quite. I'm not sure about the translation, but it makes me really curious about the content. Nice.
ReplyDeleteAlso - the top right cover reminds me of your book of historical statues... notice how the colors are used here? Something to think about when returning to that project.
I'm a fan of Franchi's work; especially with his infographics! He wrote a fantastic book on information design, and it might be available in the library.
